9-year-old endangered Sumatran tiger arrives to Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens says their first Sumatran tiger has arrived at the park. The new 9-year-old tiger, Bandar, is critically endangered and arrived from the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium located in Tacoma, Washington, according to Busch Gardens.The park’s team is excited to see Bandar join Malayan and Bengal tigers, Rukayah and Zahra.Jenny Mendoza of Busch Gardens spoke on the thrilling news:“Watching Bandar settle into his new home is exciting and inspiring,” Mendoza said in a statement. “We are very thrilled to provide him with a home for him to thrive, share his story with our guests, and have our zoological facilities serve as a building block for the prosperous future of all tigers.”Guests will be able to see Bandar in the Jungala section of Busch Gardens.

TAMPA, Fla. —

Busch Gardens says their first Sumatran tiger has arrived at the park.
