‘Contained Exhibit’
A new exhibit, “Contained,” will open Friday, Jan. 13, at the Loveland Museum, 503 N. Lincoln Ave., in the Mezzanine Gallery.
An opening reception will be held at 6-8 p.m. Jan. 13.
The exhibit explores water containers through the ages, from buckets and troughs used by early settlers to water bottles common today, with a discussion of the potential environmental impact of the different types of containers.
It will be on display through June 25.

Art in the Park
Organizers of the Aug. 12-13 Art in the Park show have issued a call for entry.
New this year will be a fine art section with 50 booths available, as well as 175 booths for artisan craftsmen.
The show will be held at North Lake Park, 29th Street and Taft Avenue, on the same weekend as the Sculpture in the Park show.

High Country Dance will hold its Winter Showcase at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, and 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Rialto Theater Center, 228 E. Fourth St.

Gardening Classes
Colorado State University Master Gardeners will start their monthly webinars for 2023 at noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11.
The series will start with Dr. John Koprowski of the University of Wyoming who will discuss “Managing Squirrels in the Landscape.”
The seminars, presented by the Northern Colorado Libraries and the CSU Extension Service, are held online, and are free to attend.

Hailing from Tanzania, the troupe celebrates the 2,000-year-old Bantu culture of East Africa with acrobatics, live music, singing, dancing and more.

‘The Revolutionists’
OpenStage Theatre will present “The Revolutionists” at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Jan. 14-Feb. 11, and 2 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, at the Lincoln Center, 417 W. Magnolia, in the Magnolia Theatre.
Playwright Olympe De Gouge, spy Marianne Angelle, assassin Charlotte Corday and ribbon-loving Queen Marie Antoinette hang out, murder Marat, lose their heads, and try to beat back the extremist insanity of 1793 Paris.
The play by Lauren Gunderson, directed by Brenna Freestone-Gilbert, is described as “a fiery, dream-tweaked comedy about art, activism, legacy, compatriots, chosen sisters — and how to change the world.”

Grand Funk Railroad
Grand Funk Railroad will bring its soulful sound and forceful pop melodies to Union Colony Civic Center, 701 10th Ave., at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13.
The five-piece group known as “America’s band” is credited with laying the groundwork for bands like Foreigner, Journey, Van Halen, and Bon Jovi with its signature hard-driving sound and muscular instrumentation. Its mega-hits include “Some Kind of Wonderful,” “We’re an American Band” and “Locomotion.”
