Sometimes there’s really nothing better than a good sandwich.
This is especially the case with a special pop-up going down at Commercial Drive’s Bar Corso later this week.
The Italian bar and restaurant is hosting a “Pane” Sandwich Pop-Up featuring a selection of gourmet sandwiches and Italian beverages on Sunday, August 27.
Available on Bar Corso’s curbside patio, as well as to-go, the sandwiches will be available only between 12 and 3 pm.
Bar Corso’s Head Chef Luke Boswell has created a lineup of his own interpretation of classic sandwiches, but with an Italian twist. Think the Italian McMuffin (with mortadella, egg, provolone, on a sourdough discard crumpet), a Turketta Bahn Mi, Wagyu Beef Dip, Fishdog (a cuttlefish, prawn, and cod sausage), and a Maitake Katsu.
The sandwich creations, which are a way for Boswell to share his love of the endless innovation of the handheld, will also feature local bakeries, including Tall Shadow.
The Bar Corso “Pane” Sandwich Pop-Up also features a collaboration with PiDGin’s Wine Director Ryan Tanner, who has helped curate a list of Italian wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages which pair perfectly with the sandwiches offered.
Sandwiches range from $18 to $22 and will be available until 3 pm or until they sell out.
Don’t sleep on this event, sandwich lovers!
