The three-story, 60,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art outpatient complex will be dedicated to women’s health and wellness, according to a news release from Bayfront Health.
It will be built at 700 6th Street S. on the east side of the campus and is expected to open in early fall 2024.
The Women’s Pavilion will have the latest imaging tools for screening and diagnostic capabilities for its team of physicians. It will also be home to a multi-specialty practice with access to specialties like urogynecology, the health care system said.
The new facility is a partnership between Bayfront Health and Women’s Care, a leading women’s healthcare group in the United States with more than 100 locations. Women’s Care will provide many of its service lines in the new pavilion.
“Construction of the Bayfront Health Women’s Pavilion and the partnership with Women’s Care will usher in the next generation of advanced healthcare for the region” John Moore, president of Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, said. “We are focused on growth and becoming the premiere destination for women’s care in Tampa Bay.”
Ellen Bower, chief operating officer at Women’s Care, added, “The partnership aligns with our dedication to supporting the health and well-being of women in the local community. As we rapidly expand nationwide as a leading U.S. women’s healthcare group, we are committed to providing an environment that creates a holistic patient experience and the state-of-the-art women’s pavilion will help make this possible in Tampa Bay.”
The 480-bed Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, founded in 1910, was bought by Orlando Health, a not-for-profit healthcare organization, in 2020.
