Better Together Singles over 50 say the blessing over the wine and challah on Nov. 3. |
After a moment of silence for the kidnapped and fallen in Israel, Better Together Singles over 50 observed erev Shabbat at Party at the Pavilion in Bellaire on Friday night, Nov. 3.
About 40 singles joined together for the bracha for lighting candles, Kiddush led by the group’s fluent Hebrew speakers and bracha for the challah. The evening continued with rocking the night away to the sounds of Molly & the Ringwalds.
Everyone enjoyed the delightful company of like-minded friends and soon-to-be friends.
Better Together will finish its concert series in December with a Kosher Chanukah Oneg at Party at the Pavilion, generously underwritten by Congregation Brith Shalom. Houston’s own Fab 5 Beatles tribute band will provide the music and entertainment. To attend, register at beth-israel.shulcloud.com/event/better-together-shabbat-in-the-park3.html.
Better Together met outdoors at Bellaire Recreation Center for pickleball on Nov. 5. Fifteen players enjoyed the temperate weather and lunch after at New York Deli and Coffee Shop. Pickleball players now are looking for an interim new venue.
If you are Jewish, single and over 50, ask to join the Better Together email list, [email protected], to be notified of upcoming pickleball games, Sunday lunches and hikes at Memorial Park.
