Approval for Freddy’s patio
Freddy’s Brew Pub has city support for an alteration to its seating plan.
City council Tuesday threw its support behind the pub’s application for a change to its liquor license by permanently adding a 108-seat outdoor patio.
The patio would include a configuration featuring 18 tables.
According to P.J. Mallen, who spoke on behalf of the applicant, the pub’s overall capacity won’t change if the expansion is approved.
“It’s not an increase in capacity, but a displacement of 108 of the 448 occupants in the pub who can use the outdoor space during better weather,” he told council.
He says the pub has always been licensed for 448 people which will not change.
The pub has been utilizing the space as a patio for the past few years under a temporary liquor permit due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The application is to make that license permanent.
While council has endorsed the request, the LCRB still has the final say.
