Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia and Greene Counties Announces Spring Gardening Days 2023

On March 25th and April 1st, join the Master Gardener Volunteers of Columbia and Greene Counties for our annual Spring Gardening Days. This year we will have six presentations/workshops to learn the

various aspects of tending to your garden. This year you can sign up for one or more of the following courses:

March 25th in Hudson, NY – Extension Education Center – 479 Route 66, Hudson

• 9 a.m. – Gardening for Pollinators

• 10:30 a.m. – The Family Planting Playbook

• noon – Creating a Cutting Garden

April 1st in Acra – Agroforestry Resource Center – 6055 Route 23, Acra

• 9 a.m. – Guarding the Garden From Deer and Other Wildlife

• 10:30 a.m. – Garden Design

• noon – Build Your Own Worm Bin!

The Master Gardener Volunteers will be on hand both days to answer your gardening questions, test soil samples, and show you around our campuses. There will be a book sale and refreshments.

In 1917, CCE of Columbia County and CCE of Greene County were established in their respective counties. About the Master Gardener Volunteers

The Master Gardener Volunteer Program is a national program of trained volunteers who work in partnership with their county Cooperative Extension office to expand educational outreach throughout the community by providing research-based information to home gardeners and youth. The first Master Gardener Volunteer program was started in Washington state in 1972.

Forty-six states now have Master Gardener Volunteer programs. Cornell Cooperative Extension is an employer and educator recognized for valuing AA/EEO, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities and provides equal program and employment opportunities. The programs provided by this organization are partially funded by monies received from the Counties of Columbia and Greene.
