Darby Community Public Library received a sturdy storage shed and the installation thanks to generous donors on Friday, Dec. 10.
Library Director Stacie Rennaker said the shed is needed and appreciated.
“We only have a small storage room in the library and since I’ve been doing the summer activities for the last four years it is just full, you can’t even get into it.,” she said. “Plus, we have donations, a snowblower, snow shovels and a big bag of salt that will now go in the shed.”

The 10-foot by 16-foot shed that now sits on the east side of the library and its installation was a community effort.
Bitterroot Shedz in Stevensville donated the shed, Darby Distribution donated the rebar, Brown’s Concrete provided the owner’s time (the library will pay the workers), Donaldson Brothers donated the concrete, and the Friends of the Darby Library will purchase the shelving units for inside the shed.
“Brown’s put the pad for under the shed and also a sidewalk to our sidewalk,” Rennaker said. “We can easily get to the shed. Connie Brown is the volunteer that called everyone to donate. She pulled it all together. Now, we just have to move everything in, and we’ll get a sign made, thanking everyone.”
