DEVON Outdoor Furniture Adorns New Luxury NZ Golf Resort

September 14, 2023 by Staff Reporter

Nestled amongst the tussocks and sand dunes of a pristine New Zealand coastline, is Te Arai Links. A new, luxury destination for world-class golf and country club living.

Despite being a mere 25 minute helicopter flight from Auckland, the country’s largest city, you’ll feel like a world away. Boasting two pure links golf courses, designed by Tom Doak, Bill Coore, and Ben Crawshaw, players are immersed in nature as the course weaves through forest and alongside the white-sand surf beach.

But while the golf may bring you here, the landscape and design will ensure you never want to leave.

Acclaimed New Zealand architects, Studio John Irving, conceived the buildings to blend seamlessly into the wild coastal landscape. Flawlessly finished by interior designer, Jenni Kayne, the styling and colour palette takes cues from the local vernacular. From Suites to Villa’s, guests are spoilt for accommodation choices, each with private outdoor spaces affording views of the golf course and ocean beyond.

In the words of the architect, “the buildings are intended to merge into the landscape, the colour palette is one of weathered driftwood, sand and native vegetation, the forms are deliberately simple and humble. Providing the backdrop to one of the most beautiful and natural golfing environments that New Zealand and indeed the world has to offer.”

Honouring this design philosophy, DEVON outdoor furniture rests on the deck of each Suite. Crafted from solid teak and outdoor synthetic weave, the furniture has been designed to reflect Aotearoa’s beauty and endure her elements, since 1976. Here, it affords guests the perfect resting spot to watch the sun rise and relax after a day on the course.

Development continues, with a new course and Ocean Restaurant underway. This slice of paradise at the bottom of the world is something you want to keep your eye on.
