SUMMER might be coming to an end, but this hasn’t stopped people from getting their gardens into tip top shape.
But after one woman revealed she built her own decking for a bargain price of just £70, people couldn’t help but inform her of her mistake.

The woman made the revelation after another person asked DIY fans: “Quick question… What’s cheaper and easier? Concreting or decking?”
And people flocked to the comments of the Facebook post on the DIY Gardening On A Budget Official group.
This included one woman who shared a photo of her decking, which looked beautifully made and featured two chairs and a table on top.
She also decorated the small space with flower pots and colourful bunting around the sides.

“I built a decking out of pallets,” she told people. “It only cost me £50 for the decking boards (they were on sale). And £20 for the decking stain.
“I had the screws etc. So a very cheap fix for me.”
She went on to reveal that it only took her one day to do it all and this was in between making lunch and dinner as well as “yelling at the kids once in a while etc lol”.
When one person called it “amazing” and asked what she’d placed underneath it, she replied: “Pallets. Cut to size and treated with oil.”
She explained that it’s easy to replace once they start rotting and she’d already done it once before, which lasted four years in total.
The woman continued: “You cut the pallets to size, screw them together. Make sure they’re straight otherwise the boards will bend and break.
“Treat them with oil before all this. Screw the boards on top.
“Apply decking stain if you want to (but it also helps with the rain). Job done!”
But not everyone thought it was a good idea at all as many others took to the comments section to share their preference of using concrete instead.
One person boldly claimed: “Neither of you know what you are doing.”
“Concrete lasts a lot longer I’ve just done my back garden in it x,” another shared.
A third posted: “Probably not much difference price wise but concrete won’t need maintaining and will last longer.”
While a fourth added: “Concrete last longer than decking”.
