Feds support Northern Ontario Agri-Food Pavilion with $680K

May 25, 2023 by Staff Reporter

The pavilion will be set up at Exhibition Place in Toronto for the 2023 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair taking place Nov. 3-11

The federal government has pledged approximately $680,000 toward the Northern Ontario Agri-Food Pavilion at the 2023 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

The event is taking place Nov. 3-11 at Exhibition Place in Toronto.

The pavilion is anticipated to provide exhibitors from throughout the region an opportunity to showcase their products on services during the event billed as the largest indoor agricultural and equestrian event in the world.

More than 300,000 people visit the event annually. A media release issued by Nickel Belt Liberal MP Marc Serré notes that exhibitors at the Northern Ontario Agri-Food Pavilion have generated $7.2 million in on-site and projected sales since 2015.

“This investment will further help agri-food businesses in Northern Ontario, including in Nickel Belt, to continue to grow and succeed,” Serré said in the media release.

“Supporting the Northern Ontario Agri-Food Pavilion means creating an opportunity for the rest of the world to discover the wonderful offerings our region brings to the table.”

More than 45 agri-food producers and organizations from Northern Ontario are anticipated to participate in this year’s fair through the pavilion.

“We are proud to partner with FedNor in creating the wonderful opportunity for our region that is the Northern Ontario Agri-Food Pavilion,” Economic Partners-Sudbury East/West Nipissing Inc. chair Patrick Keough said in a media release.

“Every year, the pavilion features incredible products and services from across Northern Ontario, and we are confident that this year’s offerings will once again demonstrate why the pavilion is not to be missed.”
