Free beer is back at Busch Gardens this summer

May 25, 2023 by Staff Reporter

Just in time for happy hour on Thursday, Busch Gardens announced it has brought back free beers for its guests this summer.

Those 21 and older can get a complimentary 7-ounce beer during their visit to the Tampa theme park. And if you are Pass Member, you get two brewskies. The offer ends July 20, so it’s not the whole summer.

The complimentary drafts will pour out at Twisted Tails Pretzels, located in the Pantopia area of the park from 10:30 a.m. to one hour prior to park closure.

“We’re introducing new shows, amazing special events and unique experiences at our parks, and an ice-cold beer is the best way for adults to take a break, cool down and select Busch Gardens as their destination of choice this summer,“ said Marc Swanson, CEO of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment.

The notion of free beer is based in the park’s roots, when it opened in 1959 as a beer garden that had bird shows and promoted the products of its then-owner Anheuser-Busch. The perk went away in 2009 after the Blackstone Group bought SeaWorld and Busch Gardens. But it reappears from time to time.

For all of 2019, the park celebrated its 60th anniversary by bringing back two free beers. And when the Tampa Bay Lightning won two back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, there was free beer for the whole month of July in 2021.

The park is currently offering a Memorial Day weekend sale through May 29 of up to 50 percent off park tickets, Fun Cards and Memberships.

Admission starts at $89.99, ages 3 and younger free; $134.99 for Fun Card offering unlimited admission. Parking is $30; $35 for preferred lot. 10165 N McKinley Drive, Tampa. 813-884-4386. buschgardens.com.
