HAVRE DE GRACE – New flowers and landscaping features have been added to the Havre de Grace old Star Families Memorial Monument, thanks to the dedicated efforts of city workers.
Dedicated in 2018, the monument serves as a profound gathering place for community members to honor the supreme sacrifices made by their Gold Star Families—families who have lost a loved one in the service of the country.
Made of black granite, the monument is a two-sided tribute. One side features an inscription dedicating the memorial to the Gold Star Families and Relatives. The other side is adorned with four etched panels depicting Homeland, Family, Patriot, and Sacrifice. At the core of the monument, a silhouette of a saluting service member encapsulates the enduring legacy of those who gave their lives for freedom.
