Once finished, the pavilion will be more than just a concession stand. It will feature a new locker room, an official room for referees and more restroom stalls.
HAMSHIRE, Texas — Hamshire-Fannett High School sports fans have something exciting to look forward to.
Just two months after a bond was passed to upgrade the pavilion, construction is underway.
In just a few weeks, the high school will debut delicious boudin balls and gumbo, along with other goodies available at their concession stand.
Aside from a larger concession area, the facility will also feature a new locker room and an official room for referees.
Hamshire-Fannett Independent School District Superintendent, Dwayne Augustine, says that the $1.6 million project took a little over a year to complete and will bring some much needed changes.
“The big feature here is the commercial venta-hood, it has a fire suppression system in it,” said Augustine.
The superintendent also says that the pavilion will be equipped with upgraded restrooms, with more stalls than they had before.
“So, we can service more people with restroom facilities,” said Augustine.
The pavilion will also feature more serving lines, so that fans can spend less time waiting, and more time enjoying the games, according to Superintendent Augustine.
“We have a reputation of having great food and concession stand, so the new facility is certainly going to help us continue that trend,” said Augustine.
The pavilion is set to make its debut, March 2, 2023, at Hamshire-Fannett’s first track meet.
“it’s gonna be awesome,” said Augustine.
The facility was also built with efficiency in mind from electricity to security access, it’ll provide a safe, convenient space for longhorns fans.
