Harris and Company comes from humble beginnings. The business was founded by Jack Harris as an irrigation install and repair company and was originally a side job for him while he maintained his job working with the Georgia State Patrol.
The business started under different names, J and J Enterprises and J and J Farm Supply, respectively. Harris and Company came about in 1992 from the dissolving of a partnership between Jack Harris and Johnny Wall, who were both troopers with the Georgia State Patrol.
Bryan Harris said that he has grown up around the world of landscaping. He grew up in the business, and much like with Jack, it began as a side job for him. He worked in the fire department and ambulance service, at least until Harris and Company became too big for Bryan and Jack to treat it as anything other than a primary job. So, in 2000, they both decided to fully dedicate themselves and their time to pursuing the landscape and irrigation industry.
For more than 22 years, Harris and Company has provided services to the people of Milledgeville and surrounding areas. The business opened in Milledgeville because Bryan and Jack were born and raised in the community and it is home to them.
Among the services they provide are full-service landscaping, irrigation lawn care, drainage and grading dirt work.
“If it’s outside, we pretty much do it,” Bryan Harris said.
They can do landscaping for homeowners, businesses and more. Bryan said that not only has Harris and Company worked for several commercial and industrial businesses, but they have also worked for Georgia Military College for more than 30 years.
Harris added that the business does its best to accommodate all interests. The pricing for services varies. He said that Harris and Company has done jobs where projects have cost anywhere from $60 to $200,000.
Working with Harris and Company has been special for both Bryan and Jack.
“It has been great for us,” Bryan said. “We have been lucky to stay extremely busy and have a good team that has been with us for many years.”
Bryan and Jack, along with their team, consider it a great privilege to serve the clients they have at Harris and Company.
“We take pride in what we do and provide a service that we would want at our own homes,” Bryan said. “We don’t try to cut any corners and I do it like I was working at my own house.”
