Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mark revealed the plants people who aren’t naturally great at gardening should give a go.
They need next to no attention, meaning you can plant them and let them thrive.
Flowering currant
This shrub, also known as Ribes sanguineum King Edward VII, is the perfect choice for anyone who loves the look of greenery in their garden but can’t seem to keep more delicate plants and flowers alive.
“Ribes will never get out of hand, they are easy to trim with a simple tidy up after flowering and easy to care for.
“You get a show of flowers the first spring after planting, the pro explained.
Forsythia spectabilis
The stunning golden flowers on this shrub make it the perfect addition to any garden.
You’ll even see the leaves turn red towards the end of the year, according to the gardening whizz.
But this plant has more to offer than it’s good looks, Mark said it’s “completely bulletproof.”
Deutzia
Another hardy shrub, Deutzia is a great choice for anyone who wants to introduce flowers into the garden this spring.
They’ll survive almost any weather so even the odd spring shower and cold temperatures won’t kill off this plant.
Simply prune the flowers after they’ve bloomed and they should come back time and time again.
Evergreen euonymus
You can spot this plant thanks to it’s glossy leaves and, pink flowers and pink berries.
You can reply on this shrub to add colour into your garden year round and there are plenty of colour variations to choose from.
Mark suggesting using them in borders or in containers, “they thrive inland and by the sea too,” he added.
