ALAPPUZHA: Three migrant laborers were electrocuted, and three others sustained injuries while dismantling a pavilion constructed for the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Thushar Vellappally, the NDA convenor of the Kerala.
According to police reports, the electrocution occurred around 6.30pm during the dismantling process, and the injured individuals have been transported to a hospital for treatment.
The temporary structure in question had been erected at the residence of SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan, located near Kanichukulangara, as part of the wedding festivities for his granddaughter. This grand celebration had taken place last week in Kochi.
It is important to note that Thushar Vellappally is the son of Vellappally Natesan and serves as the president of the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena, an ally of the BJP in the state. Authorities plan to question the contractor involved in the pavilion’s construction promptly, and appropriate legal actions, including the possibility of filing a case, will be pursued, as stated by the police.
