On Saturday, September 10, Life Learning Center will host its 8th annual fundraiser, the 2022 Life Learning Center Seasons Change Gala, and guest of honor will be Robert (Bob) Sathe, chairman of MCF Advisers.
Sathe is a long-standing champion of Life Learning Center and has supported many other noteworthy charities across Greater Cincinnati. LLC has restyled this year’s event, focusing on a toast format in place of the traditional roast of years past.
Toasting Sathe will be Dr. Doug Flora (St. Elizabeth Healthcare), Dr. Edward Holland (Cincinnati Eye Institute), President Joseph Chillo (Thomas More University), Monsignor William Cleves (Holy Spirit Catholic Parish) and his son Matt Sathe (KeyBridge Insurance).
“Bob Sathe is one of the most genuine individuals that I have ever met. He is heartfelt, sincere, and I am honored to call him my friend,” said Alecia Webb-Edgington, President of Life Learning Center.
One of Bob’s self-selected roasters and friends, Dr. Flora, joked that “with nights like this, Bob is becoming almost as well-known as some of his famous friends that he feels compelled to tell us about over and over again.”
The Covington-based non-profit delivers a holistic integrated continuum of education and care facilitating transformational change, long-term employment, and dignity for the “at risk” citizens of the region. Net proceeds will increase the Life Learning Center’s ability to reduce recidivism and promote a healthy workforce.
The Seasons Change Gala will take place at MegaCorp Pavilion (formerly PromoWest Pavilion at Ovation) beginning at 6 p.m.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the upper level of the venue will be an invite-only VIP reception. At 6 p.m., guests can enjoy happy hour cocktails featuring a signature cocktail, a Manhattan made with Willett Bourbon, and light bites. Beginning at 7 p.m., guests will enjoy a themed dinner and desserts provided by Jeff Thomas Catering. Entertainment will be featured throughout the evening provided by Pones Inc. and DJ Toad.
Emceeing the event will be Evan Millward, anchor at WCPO 9 News.
Life Learning Center will honor Ericka Schnur for this year’s Member spotlight. Ericka will share her impactful story as a reminder to attendees how Life Learning Center programming is changing the lives of hundreds of individuals each year. Of the LLC program, Ericka said “there is life beyond your past . . . now, I want to live right. I’m set up for success because Life Learning Center gave me the tools I needed.”
Gala attendees can also look forward to an array of creative packages available for bidding through a Live Auction.
Packages include several unique experiences; the largest of which will be an exclusive BLINK viewing party for up to 20 people. The winner of this package will experience BLINK like never before. On Friday, October 14, the evening will begin with a culinary experience at the private residence of J.D. Willett on the Covington riverfront. Guests will enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by Cincinnati’s premier caterer, Jeff Thomas, who specializes in providing a creative, unique experience for each event. Dinner will be paired with the perfect cocktails designed and served by renowned mixologist Molly Wellmann.
As the day turns to night and the city comes to life as many as five Covington-based activations are visible from the balcony, including the much-anticipated drone show. From across the river, the Cincinnati skyline will come alive with the illuminating sights of BLINK.
This is just one of many exciting auction packages to be auctioned by H. David Wallace, CEO and Chairman of the Board for Heritage Bank.
The Seasons Change Gala is the organization’s first large-scale event spearheaded by Life Learning Center’s new Director of Development, Laura Berkemeier.,
Guests at the Seasons Change Gala will be able to participate in a unique raffle experience modeled after a traditional cork pull. For the cost of $30, guests can pull a leaf from a tree and win a corresponding prize. Gifts were donated from local organizations and individuals, including arts organizations, restaurants and more. Leaves will be available for purchase throughout the night.
Life Learning Center hopes to raise $250,000 from the event, its biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds will benefit LLC’s 12-week Foundations for a Better Life program, which provides at-risk individuals with the necessary tools and support to sustain a living-wage career.
