Man shot, killed in Corryville while doing landscaping work identified

The man who was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in the 2900 block of Bellevue Avenue has been identified by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.According to the coroner, the man who died is Nicholas Kernan, 43, of Cincinnati.The shooting happened shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday. According to Lt. John Cunningham, officers on the scene found a victim with a gunshot wound. He was taken to UC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.At the time, police identified Kernan as only a 43-year-old man.According to a company representative with Uptown Properties, a property management company in Cincinnati, the man killed was an employee doing landscaping work when he was attacked.The company representative said the employee was doing some mulching when a man walked up unprovoked and demanded money.When the employee said he didn’t have any money with him, he was shot in the head.Tuesday, police said they did not have suspect information, nor a motive for the shooting.Kernan’s employer said they were offering a $10,000 reward to find the suspect.Police are asking people in the area if they have doorbell footage of the incident to call police at 513-352-3040.The investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is ongoing. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 513-352-3542.

CINCINNATI —

The man who was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in the 2900 block of Bellevue Avenue has been identified by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.
