SYRACUSE — The newly constructed Hinrichs Gazebo at the Hinrichs Waterfront Park on the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation’s Educational Facility property has been completed, including furniture.
Six chairs, six Farmhouse Trestle benches, three tables and three Vinyard benches were delivered to WACF Thursday afternoon, Nov. 9, by Polywood to be placed in Hinrichs Gazebo. The group arrived with a company photographer and video crew to capture the moment.
Nick Utter, shipping team member for Polywood and Bryce Glock carry one of the Vinyard benches to its future home.
Heather Harwood, executive director, stated after the completion of the gazebo, WACF wanted to furnish the 30-foot diameter facility. Due to Polywood’s environmental practices and their use of recycled plastic, the local company was contacted for a partnership. What resulted was the company offering to donate the needed furniture.
The Heinrichs Waterfront Park, honoring Joe and Marie Heinrich and family, is located on the lakeside portion of the property. The gazebo was built in honor of Alex Pursley and the Weigand Family Foundation. The Weigands designed and built the gazebo, which was finished late summer, early fall.
Scott Fetters, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, has been working at the site removing invasive plants, doing rock work and planting native plants.
A dedication ceremony will be held at a later date.
Bryce Glock, retail sales manage for Polywood and Rory Killelea, video production team member, place the furniture where its wanted in the gazebo.
