Ahmedabad: The National Institute of Design (NID), in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), designed the India Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival.
The team included Tanishka Kachru as project head, Shemal Pandya and Rahi De Roy. Kachru said that the Saraswati Yantra inspired the geometric pattern across the pavilion, and the colours were inspired by the saffron, white, green, and blue in the Indian national flag.
“The project took shape during our association with the NFDC for the upcoming International Film Festival in Goa. As the launch of the same was planned at Cannes, it presented a unique opportunity to showcase India’s creativity and cinematic prowess on the global stage,” she said, adding that the project will give exposure to the student community. tnn
