Oklahoma Department Of Wildlife Discovers Patio Chair Nailed To Tree For Make Shift “Tree Stand”

September 19, 2023 by Staff Reporter

If you don’t follow the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation of Twitter (X), you must change that STAT.

Whoever runs that account needs a raise.

While most of their tweets are funny memes, they did post pictures of a backwoods tree stand they uncovered. During a survey, they found (some might say creative, others might say redneck) a slightly unconventional tree stand.

A metal patio-style chair nailed to a tree, with a support stump (which is a generous term) placed underneath.

I am not going to lie; looking at this picture, physics has been defied. There is no way weight was supported; if it was, I’d like to be passed along their diet.

“Unfortunately, Miss Jackson, we are for real. This “tree stand” was discovered on public land in McIntosh Co. by Warden Rowland.

Not only is this EXTREMELY NOT SAFE, it is EXTREMELY NOT LEGAL. IT WAS HELD IN BY FOUR SMALL SCREWS.”

It’s not deer season yet, so can y’all maybe think of some more long-term structures instead of getting crafty?

The rest of this article will highlight some of the Grade A commentary.

Enjoy.

“You’re saying I need five screws.”

“Weren’t you the one telling folks to get outside more?”

“If it’s not safe, then why hasn’t it fallen?”

“How do they even get up there to sit?”

“Listen, the guy at Lowe’s told me that 4 screws should do the trick.”

Some of y’all might need to think about signing up for the hunter safety class they are offering.

“We are hosting a hunter safety class specifically for adults. Please sign up, some of you really need it:”
