ORIGINAL 11:45 a.m.
The outdoor deck at Micro Bar + Bites has been seriously damaged for the second time in less than a year.
Debris and what remains of a metal railing are all that’s left of the outdoor patio outside the popular pub and eatery on Water Street as of Monday morning.
This is the second time the patio has been damaged. The first time occurred in February of 2022 when an eyewitness saw the crash, which occurred at 11:30 a.m., when a man drove across an oncoming lane of traffic, hit two metal bike racks and careened onto the sidewalk outside Micro Bar + Bites. The force of the crash sent the bike rack flying through Micro’s patio, while the car destroyed the railing on the sidewalk.
This time there is a similar damage scene with bits of the vehicle that struck the deck and the railing still on the scene Monday morning.
Castanet has reached out to RCMP for more details on the collision.
