A $13 million sports pavilion would be built at Corridor Plaza under a plan to be considered tonight by the Fort Dodge City Council.
The pavilion would be an indoor facility featuring basketball and pickleball courts, among other amenities. It would be built and owned by a private entity, M and M LLC.
The company is requesting millions of dollars in financial support from the city government, which the council will consider tonight.
The proposed financial aid includes $2.65 million from a bond issue planned for next year. It also includes five annual payments of $275,000, which would come from the state approved reinvestment district which encompasses Corridor Plaza.
The council meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S.
First on the agenda is a workshop on a plan for the Northwest River District along Third Avenue Northwest.
The council’s regular business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. That’s when the sports pavilion plan will be considered.
