The Sprucells will be performing on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Rand Park Pavilion. Weichert Realtors – The Peevler Team is co-sponsoring the concert with the Rand Park Pavilion Commission.
The Sprucells are a “band of brothers” who have been playing together for about two and a half years and have played in local clubs such as Lucky’s, the Southside Boat Club and the Keokuk Yacht Club. All local musicians, the “brothers” play dance hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s from a wide range of artists including Bob Seger, the Isley Brothers, Del Shannon and even some Cindy Lauper. Band members all go by their aliases, Bruce Sprucell is the lead singer, Gary Sprucell plays guitar and sings back up vocals, Quinton Sprucell plays the drums and “brother” Ted Sprucell, rounds out the band as the bassist. For more information check out the Sprucell’s Facebook page.
The Rand Park Pavilion is a great open-air venue, so bring your lawn chairs or blankets and come listen to some great music!
Hot dogs and quarter pound beef dogs, pop, and water will be available for purchase from the New Bethel Church ladies. This will be a BYOB event. Concert goers are welcome to bring alcoholic beverages if they desire.
As usual a free will offering will be taken to help support the Pavilion.
In case of rain the concert will be cancelled but the Pavilion Commission will make every effort to reschedule.
