The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a Sunday night shooting that injured a man outside on his apartment patio.
He sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries, TPD said in an incident alert.

“It is unclear if the victim was the intended target of the shooting,” TPD said. “At this time, no arrests have been made and this investigation remains ongoing.”
So far in 2023, there have been at least 64 serious shootings in the capital city and county leaving 17 dead and 51 injured, according to a Tallahassee Democrat analysis of gun violence.
This incident is a part of an ongoing gun violence issue plaguing Tallahassee and a summer surge in shootings. Since June, the city has endured three separate double homicides and three murders in a single 24-hour span.
It also comes as residents on West Pensacola Street call on city leaders to address the high crime and homelessness activity in the area.
Many residents and business owners banded together during the city commission’s Aug. 23 meeting to air their concerns and call for more police patrols.
