The Arctic Majestic Gazebo in West Warwick is temporarily closed for maintenance. (WLNE)
WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The West Warwick Town Council will meet Tuesday to discuss the future of the Arctic Majestic Gazebo.
The gazebo has been temporarily closed to the public after it was vandalized last week.
Police said hundreds of hypodermic needles and syringes were left scattered around and inside the gazebo on Sept. 4. Officers also found illegible writing on the walls, done with a bar of soap.
A biohazard mitigation company was called and cleared the needles from the scene and thoroughly cleaned the area.
William Otte, 56, was held without bail after his court appearance.
He faces one count of vandalism and malicious injury to property. Otte has a new court date set for next week.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at Town Hall.
