Tree falls, kills woman gardening in yard of New Hampshire vacation home

A woman is dead after a tree fell on her at her Carroll County, New Hampshire vacation home over the weekend.Officials said Phyllis Mary Carifio, 81, of Massachusetts was gardening outside the home in Ossipee on Saturday when a tree fell on her in her yard. When fire officials arrived, Carifio wasn’t breathing or conscious. First responders began lifesaving efforts, and a medical helicopter was called.Carifio was taken to a hospital but officials say she died before arriving.

A woman is dead after a tree fell on her at her Carroll County, New Hampshire vacation home over the weekend.
Officials said Phyllis Mary Carifio, 81, of Massachusetts was gardening outside the home in Ossipee on Saturday when a tree fell on her in her yard.
