Workshop: Sustainable water use in home landscaping – Sonoma Sun

May 9, 2023 by Staff Reporter

Posted on May 9, 2023 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Do you wish you knew more about gardening in a changing climate? This May 20 workshop, presented by Master Gardeners Sharon Mascia and Ellen Scarr, and assisted by Sonoma Ecology Center’s Native Plant Nursery Manager Hannah Aclufi, will focus on the efficient use of water in order to plant and maintain a beautiful, sustainable garden in the North Bay Area.

Saturday, May 20, 10am-noon. Sonoma Garden Park, 19996 Seventh Street East.

Topics covered will include where our water comes from, how and when to water, waterwise and California native plants, the role of soil health in conserving water, mulching, and conservative use of water for vegetable gardens.

The session is free but registration required.

This workshop is put on through a collaboration between Sonoma Ecology Center and the UC Master Gardeners of Sonoma County. In case of rain, the workshop will be rescheduled.
